Spring is in the air, and I honestly couldn’t be more thrilled. Even though there’s still snow on the ground here, you can hear the birds chirping and when the sun lands on your skin, it’s a comforting feeling that the spring vibes are near. I see Spring as a new beginning by saying hello to warmer days and cleaning out our homes for a fresh reset. It’s also a great time to change up our self care game from the winter and adapt new self care ideas for spring!
Revaluating your self care and wellness plan with the change of seasons can definitely help you feel more in tune with the flow of the seasons. I personally love this change, as I’m able to add new ideas to my self care plan but also remove some that maybe only served me throughout the winter months. It’s a great way to stay organized and on top of your self care routines!
Self Care Ideas For Spring To Get You Excited For The Season
Go on a mindful walk
Take in the sounds of the birds chirping, the sun against your skin and the fresh breeze in the air. A mindful walk can definitely help you explore your senses, appreciate the new season ahead and give your mind a sense of calm.
Do A closet reset
Time to store away all the winter gear and freshen up your wardrobe for the warmer months! This can help with feeling organized, productive and prepared for maybe any further shopping you may need to do for the spring/summer months.
Read in the sun
One of my favourite things to do is grabbing a drink (probably coffee) and enjoying a good book in the sun. I find this self care idea so relaxing, sometimes so much that I end up falling asleep..
Start a garden plan
Growing your own garden can feel so humbling and accomplishing. Whether you start a floral garden, or a vegetable garden (or both), just being able to produce your own food and plants and control what goes on them through the process is an amazing feeling.
Start a new hobby
The spring really brings the opportunity for new hobbies to enjoy outside. There are so many fun options too! Gardening, hiking, photography, bird watching, rollerblading, kayaking, fishing, camping etc.
Watch the sunrise
Being able to take a coffee out, sitting comfortably and enjoying those few moments of the sun rising can really bring you a sense of bliss. How you start your day is an important reflection on how the rest of your day can go, so start it with a sunrise!

declutter a room
Let’s be honest, we all have that one room or junk drawer that we let pile up with things that we either need to relocate or get rid of all together. Taking the time to actually go through that space and declutter can help you feel accomplished and more organized by getting one less mess off of your plate.
Practice gratitude
Practicing gratitude is so beneficial to a fulfilling life. And there is so much to be grateful for going into the spring season! From the new flowers blossoming, the smell of the crisp morning air, the heat of the sun, the sound of the morning birds chirping.. take some time to acknowledge and appreciate all it’s beauty. You can learn how to start a gratitude journal here!
listen to the rainstorm
I remember as a kid sitting by the window and listening to the sound of the rain. We use to live in a house with a tin roof and the sound of the rain hitting that at bedtime was basically my lullaby. Listening to the rain can be so calming and relaxing.
exfoliate your skin
The winter months have our skin a bit more on the dry side. Exfoliating away that dryness and showing your skin some love will definitely give it the nice spring glow!
Create a morning routine
If you’ve read my blog posts on the benefits of a healthy morning routine, you will get me when I say they are sooo important and life changing. Changing up your routine from the winter to spring season is a great time to reevaluate your needs for your wellness and self care goals. Grab some amazing morning routine ideas here!
Take yourself on a date
Go to your favourite coffee shop, sit out on a patio, go on a fresh wardrobe shopping date. Taking time to treat ourselves and go on solo dates can be a beautiful habit to adapt.
Create an exercise plan
Exercise is important in all seasons of life. Get outside into nature and go for a walk, take your yoga mat outside and do a session, meditate on the back deck, start a new class. So many great ideas to incorporate exercise + spring time!
I hope you’ll enjoy some of these self care ideas for spring!
