Who ever said Valentines day is only for people in relationships? Valentines day is a day of love. Whether you’re in a relationship or living the single life, Valentines Day doesn’t need to be limited to one or the other. You can make it however you want to; celebrate with your love, hang out with your friends or plan a day you can indulge in your own self care. As long as you are celebrating it with enjoyment and bliss, isn’t that the most important part?
This post is focused on how you can celebrate Valentines Day while enjoying some well-deserved self-care time. So this Valentines Day, take some time to show yourself some love, to cater to YOU and prioritize your self-care and wellness. You can even include others in these activities if you choose to!
Valentines Day Activities for Self Care
Have a relaxing bubble bath
Light up a candle, grab yourself a glass of wine and sink into a hot, relaxing bubble bath. For some added benefits, add a cup or two of epsom salts and watch as your body begins to relax and your mind calm.
GO get pampered
Have a spa day, go get your nails done or a new hair style. Whatever your idea of pamper-yourself looks like, go for it!
Treat yourself to flowers or A new house plant
I looove plants. I just feel like having plants around the house really brightens up the atmosphere. So why not treat yourself to some flowers or a nice new house plant for Vday to brighten up your space too?

Make a self-care gift basket
DIY a cute self-care, valentines day themed gift basket. You can either aim to give it to someone you love, keep it for yourself or why not both?! We could all use a little more self-care (and I know I love cute little gifts) so it’s a good way to spread the love to someone you love, including yourself!
Watch your favourite feel-good movie
Grab your favourite snacks, get into something comfy and cuddle up on the couch with your favourite feel-good movie. Need a suggestion or two? 50 First Dates, Blended, and The Notebook to name a few.
Go for a nature walk
Take some time for you and your self care by enjoying some time out in nature. Spending time in nature comes with many benefits for our mental health including increased happiness & cognitive function as well as decreased anxiety and stress levels. So get outside and enjoy the sunshine!
Write yourself an appreciation/love letter
Sometimes, we might forget to really show some love and appreciation to ourselves for everything we’ve been through but also for just being the beautiful soul that we are. Grab yourself a pen and paper and write yourself a little letter or note of appreciation. If you have a hard time with this, try thinking of three things you are most grateful for in terms of yourself.

Cook a delicious meal
What’s your favourite meal of the day? And what’s your favourite thing to eat? Take some time to whip yourself up something you love and thoroughly enjoy. Oh! And don’t forget to add the dessert (Tacos and Ice Cream anyone?)!
stay off socials
Valentines Day is a hot topic on social media. Many people tend to post all sorts of lovey dovey photos with their loves which is perfectly okay but sometimes it can cause more harm than good when it comes to comparison. If you feel easily triggered by comparison, take this day to just do you. Take a break from social media and just enjoy where you are, and what you’re doing. Let there be no room for comparison since you will be focusing on and enjoying your own time.
do a face mask/skin care routine
Taking care of yourself on the outside also helps us feel good on the inside. Everyone few days I love throwing on a nice cooling face mask or under eye pads. This really helps my skin feel hydrated and makes me feel relaxed too. Have your own idea of a skin care routine? No problem.. do what you and your skin love the best!
Cozy up and read a good book
I love reading. Diving into a good book and relaxing in something comfy is pure bliss for me. Maybe you have a romance novel you want to get to in the spirit of Valentines Day. Nicholas Sparks maybe?

Take yourself out on a date
Coffee date to your favourite coffee shop? Shopping date at your favourite mall? Movie date to see a movie you’ve been wanting to see? Plan a nice date day with yourself that you can enjoy because let’s be real, we could all use a little more me-time!
Valentines Day is a day of love for everyone. If you’re feeling down or uninterested, just remember that the most important thing you can do for yourself is take care of yourself, first. Your self-care is a priority, and you can make your Valentines Day a day for prioritizing that self-care.
Do what you love, do what makes your soul happy. ♡
